Why bamboo flooring? For its style For those who want to decorate a new home or simply want to arrange a room in an Asian style, bamboo is an inspired solution. Today, people are more and more receptive to the Asian style. The Zen atmosphere and the Asian refined taste are emphasized by bamboo flooring. Also, if you conduct your life after the Feng Shui principles, the bamboo wood is bringing fortune to your home.
For its hardness The bamboo fiber has more tensile resistance than steel itself. The natural bamboo flooring is one of the hardest natural flooring materials and is an excellent alternative to the massive wood flooring. Some bamboo floorings are finished with a lacquer that can be easily scratched. However, the lacquer is the one which is scratched and not the bamboo wood. That is why we recommend the mat color. Anyway, if scratched it can be adjusted. If there are little scratches use a fine-grade sand paper. If the damage is more severe, use an electric sanding tool and then refinish. For the environment Bamboo offers a viable solution for the massive wood building materials. Bamboo is an extremely fast growing plant and was used in the building construction for centuries. Bamboo wood is ready for manufacturing after only 3 years as compared to other trees for which it takes up to 25 years or even 100 years for some hard species. The growing speed record of the bamboo plant is of 5 cm in an hour. Unlike other tree species, bamboo harvesting doesn't harm the bamboo forest and doesn't cause soil erosion. The bamboo forests don't require replanting. The mature bamboo plant has an extensive root network that goes on generating new shoots for decades, so harvesting doesn't damage the plant which continues to produce wood. Bamboo can grow in damaged soils.
